NASA Tracks High-Speed Asteroid 2024 ON: No Collision Threat

In a surprising twist, American space agency NASA has issued an alert regarding a massive asteroid named 2024 ON, which is approaching Earth at an astonishing speed.
NASA already said that asteroid poses no threat to our Earth. However, the speed at which it is travelling is a concern.
The asteroid, measuring 720 feet in diameter, will pass Earth at a safe distance of approximately 620,000 miles, on September 15.

NASA’s Near-Earth Object Observations Programme is keeping a close eye on the 2024 ON.
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, is monitoring the huge space rock with radar and optical telescopes to get a clear picture of the asteroid’s size, shape, and composition.
NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office (PDCO) is prepared to track and come up with methods to deflect any threat.
NAS is leaving no stone unturned to mitigate the potential collision threat as it is in touch with the European Space Agency (ESA).
The efforts will offer an opportunity to understand space rock and the threats posed in a better way.
